Community and business leaders gathered with Minnwest Bank employees on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and to celebrate the opening of the bank’s newest branch in Montevideo. Located at 1404 State Highway 7, the upgraded branch brings together the former location, which had temporarily operated out of a trailer following its closure for renovations in Spring 2023, and the downtown office at 107 North First Street that closed in October. The branch offers customers a fresh and inviting atmosphere for first class home mortgage services, personal bankingbusiness banking and insurance needs. The redesigned space features a coffee bar, community meeting spaces and of course, full-service banking.

The event drew a strong turnout with attendance from valued business partners, loyal customers and engaged community members. Table 212, a local Montevideo restaurant, catered the event with appetizers and tasty sweets. The grand opening was not just a celebration of a new physical space, but a testament to the interconnectedness that makes Montevideo a vibrant and supportive community.

“Montevideo is a community we've been honored to serve since the 1980's - with this addition, we're looking forward to serving this community for many years to come. We love being here, we love our customers and we're proud to be a part of Montevideo,” said Ivan Van Essen, President of Minnwest Bank.

During the celebration, Tesa Maus, the Executive Director of the Montevideo Chamber of Commerce shared her gratitude for the bank’s continued support of the community. “Whenever I have asked for help with anything in the community, Minnwest Bank is there,” she said. “Minnwest employees in this community are doers, and they have proven this over and over again. We are grateful to have them in Montevideo.” Her words reflected the strong partnership between the bank and the community, underscoring the positive impact Minnwest has had in Montevideo.

Market Sales Manager Nicole Boelter and Market President Ryan Anderson also expressed their gratitude for the Montevideo community as well as their appreciation for the staff. “I just want to thank not only the employees for dealing with all the changes, but also our community – thank you for your kindness and understanding during construction. We appreciate you all, and we hope to continue providing the great customer service that you deserve from us,” Boelter says. “I want to recognize our entire team here – for their unwavering commitment to this community,” Anderson adds.

Renovations began in the Spring of 2023 for the new branch. In addition to full-service banking, the location also offers the convenience of a drive-thru Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), essentially an ATM with live video chat. An ITM uses a combination of touch screens and video technology to offer a virtual version of the in-person banking experience.
