We get it — doers like you are extra-appreciative of time-saving technology paired with superior service. That’s what you get with Minnwest Bank’s new fleet of ITMs, which give you access to even more banking services than what you would get with a traditional ATM.
Since we’re kicking off summer with convenience in seven locations around Minnesota and South Dakota, you’ll want to read on to discover how ITMs are here to make banking better for you. Even better, if we have one in your community, stop by and check it out!
What are ITMs?
ITM stands for interactive teller machines. They come with all the transactions you’re used to seeing in an ATM (automated teller machine): checking your balance and retrieving cash. Unlike an ATM, ITMs use video technology to connect you with a live teller, so you can get even more done during your encounter. We want to use it to offer our customers the perfect blend of technology and friendly, competent service.
How are ITMs different from ATMs?
ITMs provide the same transactions you would expect at an ATM. Because an ITM lets you speak with a live virtual banker over a video screen, you can perform most of the same transactions you can access inside the bank at the teller counter.
ATMs vs ITMs
Here’s a list of services you can access at both an ATM and an ITM:
- Withdraw cash
- Check balances
- Transfer
ITM differences
Because you can speak face-to-face with a virtual banker, ITMs offer a wider range of capabilities and services for our customers, things that were never possible with ATMs.
- Make deposits and cash checks
- Make loan payments
- Pay off loans
- Order a new ATM/Debit card
- Report an ATM/Debit card lost or stolen
- Scan your ID
- Get a temporary password for your online account
Best of all, you can get answers to your questions right away from a Minnwest employee. Or, the virtual banker can refer you to the right Minnwest expert who can help.
Additional customer support
In addition to your everyday transaction needs, virtual bankers can also assist with your online banking needs:
- Online lending tools
- Mobile banking tools
- Answer questions you have about opening online accounts

What are the benefits of ITMs?
ITMs provide an efficient way to make banking services easier to access to our customers, using the latest technology. Here’s a quick list of benefits to Minnwest customers:
Saves you time
ITMs allow Minnwest to provide longer service hours, especially at our smallest branches. Instead of having to plan your life around bank lobby hours — or face a long drive to a larger branch location — you have a more convenient option.
Better access to services
Simply pull up in your vehicle at participating drive-up locations, and knock out your to-do list without searching for parking or exiting your vehicle.
Faster than drive-up banking
ITM is a big update from the traditional drive-up banking services. Not only because you don’t have to mess with vacuum tubes, but research also shows ITMs offer swifter service than traditional drive-through service by a margin of 3:2.
Intuitive and easy to use
The ITM format is easy to use and follow, very similar to the ATMs you’ve grown to know and love over the years.
Just like in-person banking
You’ll like the personal touch that accompanies ITMs. They make it easier for you to get your banking done, but you get the warm, personal service you’d expect from your branch location.
Access to hometown bankers
The virtual bankers that serve you through the ITMs are Minnwest Bank employees, based in our Eagan branch.
